Kistik fibrozis tanısında kullanılan tarama testlerinden birisidir.

Gaitadaki tripsin miktarı malabsorbsiyonda artmışken, pankreas

fonksiyon kaybı ve kistik fibroziste azalmıştır. 4 yaşın üzerindeki

çocuklarda değeri düşüktür.
