Klinik kullanımı :

HCV enfeksiyonlarının erken evrelerinde antikor düzeyinin düşük

olması nedeniyle serolojik testler yetersiz kalabilir. Ayrıca HCV

antikorunun pozitifliği her zaman viremi varlığının kesin göstergesi

değildir. Bu nedenlerle virüsün doğrudan tespit edildiği duyarlı ve

spesifik bir yöntem olan PCR-RNA’ya ihtiyaç duyulur.
